Art has always been my passion. The common thread between my expression as a dancer, weaver, landscape designer, painter, or sculptor has always been the commonalities that exist in different disciplines: composition, color, line, rhythm, dynamic pattern, contrast, emotion, or movement.
Art for me is a way to interact with my surroundings while connecting with myself. By working with a model I become inspired by another while learning more about myself. Using soft and flexible clay teaches me about the human form outside of myself while also allowing me to further explore where my own attention turns. Where do my hands take me based on what I'm experiencing with the model, and what can this teach me about where my intuition and interests lie.
I try to work quickly since the movement and flow of my thoughts and my hand are very important to me. I correlate movement with life and the sculpture that is born of this energy makes me happy. I hope to convey my joy and share it with others.
