About Me

Orly’s interest in the visual arts began in her early 20’s when she first travelled to Europe and visited the great museums there. This encounter caused Orly to begin her art studies in the Margoshinski School of Painting in Tel Aviv. There Orly trained with the renowned painter Jan Rauchwerger. After completing her studies, Orly worked as a landscape designer while she also taught free-form weaving.

Orly moved to New York in 1997, where she decided to expand her artistic horizons and began studying sculpting at the New York Art Students’ League, under the instruction of Jonathan Shahn.

Orly received her first scholarship, from the Sharet Israel-America Cultural Foundation. At the ASL, Orly received the Richard Lillis Memorial Scholarship. Her work was judged best in show and featured in the ASL’s catalog, Linea Magazine, and The Brooklyn Rail.

Orly has exhibited in solo and group exhibitions, including the Fort Lauderdale Museum of Art (Ft. Lauderdale, FL), the Brasov Art Museum (Brasov, Romania), Yahalom Gallery (Ramat Gan, Israel), Lana Santorelli Gallery (New York, NY) and others.

Orly’s work is in private ownership throughout the U.S. and Israel. She is currently a member of the Portrait Project organization, Long Island City Artists, and the National Association of Women Artists.
